Belong.

At launch I had the option to buy something called Keys for the Journey. It is a key you can buy and get a word stamped onto the face of it, you can chose the word or you can have Austin, the guy who makes the keys, pray and prophecy and he picks the word.

 

I decided to have Austin pray and pick my word and I got it the day before we left for the race at launch. 

 

Belong.

 

My key said Belong.

 

I thought I knew what this meant but only now am I starting to realize the true meaning of my key.

 

I thought my key meant that I was supposed to be on the World Race. There were for sure times before I left where I questioned if this was really what God wanted me to do right out of high school. I took my key as telling me that this is really where I’m supposed to be and I’m not supposed to be anywhere else.

 

I do believe that this is what me key meant, but only part of it. 

 

The second part I am just realizing here while in my third week in Guatemala…

 

I belong in Jesus.

I am His and only His. 

He has chosen me.

I am exactly where he wants me to be.

 

This literally blew my mind because I have known this, but before our second week in Guatemala I had never accepted or stepped into this truth. 

 

During our second week in Guatemala we had our first activation. Every Thursday we have activation and this is a time when someone on the Adventures staff here at the base gives us a message in the morning and teaches us what it is truly saying and then we go out into the community here and put what we learned into practice. The first activation someone on the Adventures staff talked about identity and explained it in a way that I had never heard before.

 

After she finished, we all spread out around the base and took time to sit and ask God who he says we are. After we did this we went out and because we knew who God said we were we were able to go around and listen to God speak to us so that we could tell other people who God says they are. 

 

Man this was a really cool time because for a lot of us walls and barriers were broken down. 

 

And as I sit and write this blog, just a few minutes ago I looked up what the actual definition of Belong is and this is what it says:

be the property of

be the rightful possession of

be a member or part of 

be rightly placed in a specified position

 

WOW. 

 

I am Jesus’.

I am the rightful possession of my Heavenly Father.

I am a member of Gods family.

I am in a specific position that He has rightly placed me in.

 

Once again, WOW.

 

 

Not only do I belong here, but more importantly I BELONG IN HIM.
